Ingredients & Benefits

Honey

Honey is packed with nutrients, enzymes, and beneficial compounds that speed up healing and reduce inflammation. Known for its potent antibacterial properties, honey can help eliminate bacteria on the skin, making it a valuable ingredient for addressing acne and breakouts. Its strong anti-inflammatory effects make it especially helpful for managing skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and atopic dermatitis.

The natural enzyme activity in honey allows it to deeply penetrate the skin, delivering hydration to underlying layers and resulting in plumper, softer, and more radiant skin. Honey also draws moisture from the air and binds it to the skin, enhancing hydration for a fresh, youthful glow and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Honey contains trace amounts of hydrogen peroxide, which gives it mild lightening properties that can help reduce acne scars and hyperpigmentation over time. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects further support clear skin by minimizing the bacteria that cause pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads.

Finally, honey is effective in soothing sunburns due to its ability to promote tissue healing and reduce inflammation, aiding in recovery from sun exposure.

Turmeric

Turmeric enhances microcirculation in the skin, leaving your complexion feeling stronger, more resilient, and naturally radiant. The active compound curcumin, found in turmeric, supports wound healing by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, benefiting both tissue repair and collagen formation.

Turmeric is known to reduce acne scars, refine pores, and calm irritated skin. Its antiseptic and antibacterial properties help inhibit the growth of acne-causing bacteria, preventing skin cells from clumping together and clogging pores. Turmeric is also effective in lightening hyperpigmentation and reducing signs of premature aging, promoting a brighter and more even skin tone.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is rich in vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that boosts collagen production, repairs damaged skin cells, and promotes healthy skin structure. The antioxidants in vitamin C help combat free radicals*, which can damage collagen and lead to signs of aging. Lemon juice is also known for its ability to lighten dark spots and even out skin tone, resulting in a brighter, more radiant complexion.

*Free radicals are unstable molecules that can damage skin cells, accelerating aging and breaking down collagen. They’re often generated by factors like sun exposure, pollution, and stress. Antioxidants, like those in vitamin C, neutralize free radicals, helping to protect and preserve the skin’s structure and youthfulness.

Coffee + Coffee Grinds

Coffee is packed with antioxidants that help smooth fine lines and prevent the formation of wrinkles, improving blood flow and enhancing skin texture. Coffee grinds act as a natural exfoliant, removing dirt and impurities from deeper layers of the skin while shedding dead skin cells to reveal a fresher complexion. The acidic nature of coffee supports collagen production, promoting firmer, more youthful skin.

Coffee’s exfoliating properties help cleanse pores of debris and reduce bacteria, aiding in the prevention of acne. Its anti-inflammatory effects make it gentle enough for sensitive skin, while the caffeine content provides serine, a powerful antioxidant that rejuvenates the skin, clears up acne, and helps fade acne scars.

Once we brew the coffee that is added to our Espresso soap, we repurpose the freshly ground coffee and dry it thoroughly. Repurposing brewed coffee grinds adds a gentle exfoliating texture to the soap, allowing for mild yet effective exfoliation that suits a range of skin types, including sensitive skin. Since the grinds have been softened through the brewing process, they are less abrasive than fresh grounds, providing a smoother, more refined exfoliation that won’t irritate the skin. Additionally, any residual oils or antioxidants from the brewed coffee can further enhance the soap’s moisturizing and rejuvenating properties, giving the skin a subtle, polished glow.

Rice Milk

Rice milk is a nourishing and moisturizing ingredient, rich in natural emollients and nutrients that hydrate and soften the skin, leaving it feeling smooth and supple. Known for its gentle, skin-calming properties, rice milk is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Its natural exfoliating qualities help improve skin texture by gently removing dead skin cells, unclogging pores, and reducing their appearance for a smoother, more refined complexion.

Avacado Oil

Avocado oil is packed with skin-loving nutrients, including vitamin E, potassium, and lecithin, which deeply nourish and moisturize the skin. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, while potassium promotes skin health. Lecithin, a blend of fatty substances, serves as a powerful moisturizer and emollient. It helps restore hydration and strengthens the skin's natural barrier, making avocado oil especially beneficial for dry or irritated skin. Together, these nutrients support a softer, smoother, and more resilient complexion.

Cocoa Butter

Cocoa butter is a deeply hydrating and nourishing ingredient known for its ability to improve skin elasticity. The natural fats in cocoa butter form a protective barrier on the skin, locking in moisture and helping to prevent dryness. This makes it especially beneficial for dry, rough, or sensitive skin.

Rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, cocoa butter helps to improve the skin’s texture, leaving it soft, smooth, and supple. It is also known for its ability to promote the healing of scars, stretch marks, and damaged skin by supporting the regeneration of skin cells. The natural emollients in cocoa butter can soothe irritated skin and improve its overall tone and appearance, making it a great choice for anyone seeking to restore a youthful, healthy glow.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is packed with high concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins that deeply soften and nourish the skin. Known for its conditioning and hydrating properties, shea butter helps tone and soothe the skin, making it ideal for dry, irritated, or sensitive skin. Its rich emollient qualities promote a smoother, more supple texture while restoring moisture and elasticity.

In addition to its moisturizing benefits, shea butter is renowned for its ability to calm inflammation and provide relief for conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and sunburn. Its antioxidants support skin repair and rejuvenation, leaving the skin feeling nourished and rejuvenated.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is known for its powerful ability to reduce inflammation while keeping the skin moisturized and aiding in the healing of wounds. Rich in fatty acids, coconut oil also possesses natural antimicrobial properties that help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria. These properties make it a great choice for acne-prone skin, helping to clear breakouts and prevent future ones.

In addition to its healing and moisturizing benefits, coconut oil serves as an effective cleanser. Its ability to dissolve impurities and remove makeup without stripping the skin of its natural oils makes it a gentle yet thorough cleanser. Coconut oil helps unclog pores, removing dirt and debris while maintaining the skin's hydration balance, leaving it clean, soft, and nourished.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is packed with healthy vitamins, fats, and antioxidants that contribute to healthier-looking skin. Known for its ability to deeply moisturize, olive oil locks in moisture, leaving the skin soft and supple. Its rich antioxidant content, including vitamin E, helps combat the signs of aging by protecting the skin from free radicals that cause premature wrinkles and fine lines.

In addition to its hydrating and anti-aging properties, olive oil also has soothing effects that can calm irritated or dry skin. It supports the skin's natural barrier, helping to prevent moisture loss and maintain hydration. Olive oil’s nourishing properties make it ideal for promoting a youthful, glowing complexion.

Macadamia Nut Oil

Macadamia nut oil is known for its ability to calm and soothe skin that is red, itchy, dry, flaky, or otherwise irritated, helping it return to its natural balance. This makes it especially beneficial for sensitive or reactive skin. Despite its richness, macadamia nut oil is also an excellent option for oily skin, as it helps to improve the skin's natural oil barrier, providing hydration without clogging pores. Its lightweight texture allows it to absorb quickly, leaving skin feeling nourished and balanced.

Castor Oil

Castor oil is known for its ability to reduce inflammation, redness, and swelling of the skin. Its soothing properties make it a key ingredient in after-sun products, providing relief and calming the skin after sun exposure. The moisturizing benefits of castor oil help to prevent peeling and flaking caused by sunburn or prolonged sun exposure, promoting smoother, more hydrated skin. Its natural humectant properties draw moisture into the skin, helping to maintain hydration and support skin recovery.

Beeswax

Beeswax offers many of the same benefits as honey, including its soothing, moisturizing, and antibacterial properties. In addition, beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin’s surface, shielding it from environmental irritants and harsh weather conditions. Beeswax is non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog pores and allows the skin to breathe freely. This makes it especially beneficial for acne-prone and sensitive skin, helping to balance and protect without causing breakouts.

Mango Butter

Mango butter is an effective solution for preventing inflammation and itching caused by dry or irritated skin. It is rich in triglycerides—fatty acids that work as powerful emollients, helping to soften the skin and lock in moisture. These fatty acids also contribute to maintaining the skin's natural barrier, preventing moisture loss and alleviating dryness and itching.

In addition to its moisturizing benefits, mango butter is known for its ability to soothe and repair damaged skin. Its high antioxidant content helps to protect the skin from environmental stressors, while its vitamins A and C support healthy skin regeneration and collagen production. This makes mango butter particularly beneficial for maintaining a youthful, glowing complexion.

Mango butter’s gentle, non-comedogenic nature makes it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone skin. It nourishes and hydrates without clogging pores, leaving the skin soft, smooth, and deeply moisturized.

Buttery smooth

If you’re looking for a natural, buttery soap bar that leaves your skin feeling fresh and glowy, I highly recommend this one! While I’ve used it on my face, I’ve found that using this bar to shave is my personal favorite. Its hydrating oils makes my shaves smoother and the best part is it brightens my skin in the process. As someone with very sensitive skin I appreciate that it’s unscented too which makes this soap bar versatile and gentle enough for the skin on my face and body.
